A universal metal detector for all tasks – how close are we to solving the problem?

I remember those times when we could not even think about underwater search, because there were simply no detectors for such a task. For us, such a search seemed to be purely a dive with a mask and a snorkel in the hope of discovering something on the surface of the bottom. Something large and clearly visible. But it was not always possible to lift this large thing; even the same trivial helmet could easily be dropped in the water, and the shield sticking out of the ground for Maxim’s heavy machine gun only allowed one to touch it and swim away further, because there was neither the strength nor the resources to lift it.

The same is true with high-frequency metal detectors for searching for gold. Previously, when everyone was searching with simple detectors with a frequency no higher than 14 kHz, even the frequency of 17 and 19 kHz was considered very high and many diggers did not understand at all why such a frequency was needed? That’s why, for example, detector models with a frequency of 13 kHz sold better than the same model with a frequency of 19 kHz, because everyone thought: “this is for gold!” However, at the moment, when multi-frequency has come to the fore, no one remembers such funny moments in history and everyone is happy with the search for small silver coins (and sometimes gold ones).

It’s a similar story with metal detectors for war searches. Just a few years ago there was a clear division of detectors into “coin detector”, “for gold”, “beach detector” and “war detector”. Metal detectors for war searching stood a little apart, because coin detectors need a higher frequency (7+ kHz), and for war searching, 4 kHz would be fine, so every digger who was fond of war searching had at least a detector, yes and a deep-diveer to boot!

Is it now possible to combine all these technologies into one and produce a truly universal metal detector? So that you don’t have to buy one detector for beach and underwater searching, a second one for searching for gold, a third for coins, and a fourth metal detector for a war cop, plus a depth detector?

If someone had told me about this three years ago, I would not have believed it and would have argued heatedly about such a possibility. After all, there were already detectors whose price went over 2000+ euros, and they were tailored exclusively for a narrow range of tasks. However, the French company XP very much surprised all diggers with its Deus 2, the new season we will deal with all the capabilities of this metal detector! No worries and a good start to the season!
