Best Asi settings using the example of ACE 400i

Without any special wisdom, I’ll tell you what settings you should use to work with the ACE metal detector from Garret. The menu of this device is quite simple, equipped with a number of ready-made search programs (modes), and also allows you to create your own.

I’ll break it down further:

  • Mode
    • All-Metal (all metals) is used if you need to knock out an area «to zero»;
    • Jewelry (jewelry) suitable for the beach;
    • Custom (own program) is used to edit the discrimination scale (see below);
    • Relics (old) — the main operating mode when searching for antiquities in fields, former villages, etc.
    • Coins (coins) — respectively, kopecks in coins;
  • Sensitivity
    • It is necessary to set the highest value at which it is comfortable to use the device. The higher the sensitivity, the more false positives. This applies to any device.
  • Discrimination
    • It is possible to cut off a sound signal of a certain strength by removing a segment of the discrimination scale. Using this option you create your own work program (mode). This is used to prevent weak signals from being heard in non-littered areas.

For me personally, I usually use the out-of-the-box Relics mode on my ACE 400i. This mode is quite universal.
