I recently heard that fake treasures have begun to appear. Various fans of filming cops order Chinese copies of Russian coins and then «allegedly» They find huge treasures, pots of coins, everything is original. It is clear that this is just an attempt to increase views.
But literally in the middle of spring 2016, in the south of Estonia, diggers from the local search club «Kamerad» Together with archaeologists, they recovered two treasures and all this in one place! The whole story:
As I understand it, the guys already had information about the possible presence of a treasure (one) and a team of archaeologists from the University of Tartu and local diggers from all over Estonia recovered a treasure trove of various jewelry. But since the team was large and it was out of place for everyone to lift up a treasure trove of decorations, some of the guys scattered across the field. After forty minutes of searching, a cache of 16th-century coins was discovered a little to the side. The whole team gathered in one place to raise the plow and dig up coins. Mostly shillings from Walter von Plettenberg were found.
Beautiful finds, in any case!
The total number of coins was almost 400!
But that’s not all! After walking through the field for some time, the guys find another plowing area, located 500 meters from the place of the first treasure. The period of the coins is the same, but the number of coins is many times larger and what is even more interesting — all the coins were literally on a small area of 20 by 20 meters! There were a lot of signals and the devices sang depending on the number of coins under the coils!
The largest number of shillings was from the Free City of Riga.
There were a lot of scales of Ivan the Terrible.
Pennies, half pennies.
8 and 4 real coins of colonial Spain (Mexico City)
Clips in the 16th and 8th era.
Many coins are stuck.
Archaeologists lifted the core of the treasure as a monolith along with the earth and fragments of the pot and took it to the laboratory.
Work to extract coins from this site took three days!
The weight of coins, mainly scales and shillings, is 5.6 kg and how many coins are in the monolith is still unknown!
Coins found during plowing are folded into a jar of ready-made kebab, relevant:
Interestingly, a treasure trove of jewelry and a monolith of coins were found using a metal detector XP Deus, there is little information about other devices, but judging by this plowing coins in a small area could be found with absolutely any metal detector. So go and look, there are no missing places!
You can find more treasures here, and I have collected everything about XP Deus here. Epic find — 600 kg of Roman coins were found in Spain at the beginning of 2016, details here!
