It’s a good and positive moment when a distributor and a manufacturer are working on some joint and narrow project for a specific market. In our case — for diggers from Russia, the Bulgarian company Golden Mask (and many remember them by the name Banditto) has released a new analog metal detector «Svarog». Why is this device interesting in our case?
The metal detector is also suitable for a beginner — It will be too difficult at first to go around and dig through all the signals without really understanding the settings, but on the third or fourth output, when you have dug up a lot, you will bypass all the comrades with digital devices. There are few settings here, but all are labeled in a language familiar to every copar: «sense», «ground balance», «discrimination».
Identifying the target by sound is the best option. Only by sound will a cop be as effective as possible, although this can be difficult for those who have been using a digital device for many years.
The device is available with a large selection of coils, but with one caveat — the device is designed for one frequency, and the choice of coils is quite large; any model from Golden Mask, presented below, is suitable!
Frequencies available to choose from: 8 kHz, 11 kHz, 13 kHz, 15 kHz, 18 kHz or 20 kHz.
The choice of coils is also wide: 5″, 7″, DeTech SEF 6×8″ (18 kHz only), 9″, 10.5″, 12″ Fighter, 10×12, 9×10″, 10×12″ Spider, DeTech SEF 10×12″ (18 kHz only), 12.5×15″.
Why is this done? For optimal operation at the frequency you choose, of course. And as balanced as possible.
I see several interesting sets and combinations here, for example: 10×12 reel″ Spider at 13 kHz — Universal coin and relic collector. Or coil 9″ at 20 kHz — a good collector of small coins or working in trash cans, a good option to vacuum all the places you previously damaged.
There are many options to choose from and every experienced digger can choose exactly the kit that he needs. And all this at a price several times less than Deus, but with the same efficiency. Even wireless headphones — and they can be connected to the device (only special Golden Mask and this option must be selected in advance).
An interesting metal detector, of course, both for a beginner and for us — diggers with experience (each with their own, of course).
Reviews of the Golden Mask metal detector Svarog
Greetings, comrades. Today I went out into the field with Svarog for the third time. I dug up five coins, not counting the zhboni, which I didn’t take a photo of.
In principle, nothing special, three rubles from the Soviets in 1950, three killed empires and 2 modern rubles. According to Svarog, I can say the following: in my opinion, the device is simply universal. At 13 kHz frequency it works perfectly for large and medium coins. The same goes for buttons, bronze shards and crosses. Pros of 13 kHz compared to 18 kHz — sees large and medium-sized coins more deeply. Cons — The sensitivity to small gold (an earring less than 1 gram) and small targets (silver scales, buttons, weights) drops a little, but again, dear comrades, the losses on small targets at a frequency of 13 kHz are not significant, which are easily compensated by installing another coil, for example — fighter. After which the depth for any purpose increases. Tests with the fighter have already been carried out. The results are simply great. The next cop is planned with a fighter. I will definitely share my impressions.
I’ve been wearing masks recently. I communicate with people (not only in contact) who also work with these devices, and with different ones and at different frequencies. Well, from my still small experience and thanks to the information received from respected comrades, I can draw the following conclusions: Masks 1+ and 1+UK are good for beginners, in terms of, you don’t need to play with the ground balance and you can vacuum beaches, etc. interesting places for gold finds even after other instruments. Because, for example, with Svarog today I apparently jumped onto a spot of other soil, it looked like black soil or peat, and I had to rebuild manually, since at some point the device began to work incomprehensibly, then it left this spot and readjusted again. Nearby, a man with a 705 grater was walking on auto-tracking, so his parameters ranged from 28 to 50-something, I don’t remember exactly. 705 really went blind in a place that was not very littered («sang songs», the numbers rushed from + to minus), and «welder» pulled out a Soviet three-ruble note emitting a clear signal, which came separately and clearly from the «grunting» small iron piece lying nearby (even when scrolling over the target by 90-180 degrees).
That is, everyone understands that Svarog is not for beginners, as it is written on the Golden Mask website. Comrades, if you decide to take a single-frequency device, then for the lazy and newbies these are 1+ and 1+UK, devices that will delight you with finds without any problems. If you want to dig deeper for small targets and gold, your device — Svarog with frequencies of 18 and 20 kHz. If you want to dig large coin carriers, copper and silver, and also look for capsules, then this is your Svarog 7.5 and 8 kHz. In my opinion, the frequencies that are universal are 11, 13 and 15 KHz. At these frequencies, with different coils, you can achieve different, equally very good results, for different purposes. Sometimes guys ask a question in PM» Oleg, which one would you take a 2-frequency generator from masks». I answer — 4WD with frequencies 7.5 and 15 kHz. And I would go with coils, either with a fighter at both frequencies, or with 9×10 at 15 kHz and 13×15 at 7.5 kHz. I wouldn’t mind trying 4WD with 6 and 13 kHz using the same coils.
Dear comrades, everything stated above is solely my own opinion, formed from my own experience of using Golden Mask metal detectors. In no way do I advertise the Golden Mask company and do not lobby anyone’s interests. Please everyone in advance! Do not write taunts or other comments under this post that could lead to flooding and negativity. I repeat, everything stated above is my personal opinion, based on the use of Golden Mask 1+ and Golden Mask Svarog 13 kHz metal detectors. If anyone wants to ask questions on any topic, or use foul language, write in a personal message.
I hope all of the above will be useful to someone. I wrote it from the heart! With respect to all comrades!
Oleg R.
I only managed to hold Svarog and test it a little on a couple of my test targets at a treasure hunters’ meeting near Moscow in September 2017. I liked the ease and simplicity of setting up the device, its compactness (thanks to the Golden Mask rod), and its tenacity for small targets (not to mention large ones!). Let’s see, maybe the time will come and for the next season I’ll get myself a device like the second one — for reconnaissance or finishing off places, I’ll take a look and think about it.
No fluff!
