You know that in the world there are only two main technologies that metal detectors use? This is «Pulse Induction» (PI) and «Ultra-low frequencies» (VLF). Minelab also has FBS, but I have some questions with it. It’s good to work with PI on the beach and on difficult soils, and many underwater detectors work on this technology, but with VLF it’s best to look for coins in fields and littered areas — The platform will work better and it will be easier to understand what lies under the coil, a colored or iron object.
While I was looking for a patent for Whites, I came across a new and interesting document that was patented by 1st Texas Products, let me remind you that this company represents three brands in the world of metal detectors — Bounty Hunter, FisherLab, Teknetics. In general, all three brands have good devices for their purposes and their niche, but what do we see in the new patent?
It seems that David E. Johnson, if I’m not mistaken, he is the lead engineer of the company, has advanced and improved the PI technology, «Pulse Induction», which means that they will be released soon new detectors based on new developments. Underwater detectors? Depth explorers? Or maybe something simpler, a new generation of devices for beginners? Let’s see.
