I thought back at the end of last season that it would be cool to get some binoculars for yourself and slowly watch your neighbors (just kidding), watch before the cop or during the cop, what is happening around. Very often I am worried about the topic of my car, I often leave it somewhere in the bushes or a little in the woods, so that prying eyes don’t see and wonder: “who came there and what does he want? What if there are bandits, thieves or what other dashing people got into our village?”.

This question became especially relevant when I left the car in the bushes, walked away for almost half a kilometer and looked back, and someone was running around the car in the bushes. Probably a vigilant villager took photographs and wrote off the license plates.

In general, I decided to search the Internet for binoculars that were compact, convenient, with good coated optics (“soapy” images always irritate the eye) and at a more or less normal price. And I found it, here it is in front of us, this beauty – Steiner Wildlife XP 10X26!

I waited a long time for a parcel from German Amazon and now it has arrived. The first thing that impressed me was that it was a good and beautiful box. Despite the fact that it is beautiful, it is also practical and reliably protects the binoculars during transportation.

And so it turned out – the binoculars arrived safe and sound.

Naturally, I wanted to take it with me as one of the first cops and test it. The car was hidden, as it should be, and our team of treasure hunters scattered throughout the large field in all directions.

What I liked about the binoculars?

First of all – lightness. It is incredibly light (347 g) and easily fits into the breast pocket of my British parka (only 14 cm high), which is very important, because the British jacket has two large chest pockets in which I store various useful things for a cop, for example, a license to cop, permission from the owner of the land to cop, pepper spray, just in case, to scare away dogs or other animals, a multitool from Leatherman (I also recommend it), car keys (where would we be without them), a mobile phone, and now binoculars . What also surprised me was the quality of execution. When I went to local hunting and fishing stores, as well as one optical store (various photos and other products), they were full of ordinary Chinese products that differ from each other only in design and small characteristics. Otherwise, they are all the same, the optics are “soapy”, which means that the picture quality will be very weak, the assembly is fragile and other little things that do not guarantee me the honorable transfer of the binoculars to my grandchildren for use in so many years. ))) But not with Steiner. This one will last a long time, the main thing is not to hit it with a hammer on purpose. Its body is rubberized and does not jump out of your hands, nothing is loose, there are no traces of glue and everything works as it should.

Another useful feature is that the binoculars are waterproof up to 2 meters. This means you can swim with it. And it will not let water through if it accidentally falls. And you can always get it from the bottom with a metal detector, as long as you have an underwater device.

The eyecups fit comfortably under the head and do not interfere with observation.

Yes, just in case, I took a few photos “through binoculars”; they will not convey the full quality of the picture, but in general it is clear that there is no loss of light transmission, and the focus is very good and fast.

My summary of the toy is quality, reliability and functionality. Perhaps these three words held me back for choosing this model. For my constant trips to the mine, as well as hiking and various trips, these binoculars were the best choice, because in addition to digging this year, I’m thinking of going a short 300 km route through the forest on foot, along one of our hiking trails, and it will be very interesting and an unforgettable experience, but I have to go through it only knowing that none of the equipment will let me down. As is health.
