Of course, you won’t find such a coin in the fields, still trial issues, but who knows? It’s an interesting thing, what kind of coins we could now raise at plowing and divide the late Imperial copper into old and new issues . 🙂 However, history had its own way.
Nicholas II planned a monetary reform in his Empire in 1911 to replace silver coins with copper-nickel coins in order to reduce the cost of coin production, but the reform did not take place, unfortunately or fortunately. Samplers were minted, which then got lost and periodically pop up at various auctions, rarely, of course, but they go for a fabulous sum, there is talk of a price of up to 40-50 thousand dollars per unit. An auction is an unpredictable thing. 🙂 The Revolution interfered with the whole plan and then you already know, the Empire ceased to exist and Soviet Russia began minting its own coins.
Interesting? I collect everything educational here, and I collect posts on identifying finds in this place.
