Finds – medals George 4th degree and “For Bravery”! (Competitive story of a digger!)

Good afternoon! I want to share an interesting story of this spring. In general, my comrades and I gathered to explore a village near the river. We walked about 6 km through the forest + took a boat to see a place on the other side of the river. We arrived at the place and there was a pichala, literally 2 weeks before us someone had been there, everything was dug up (the holes were not filled in). Well, what can you do, you need to try. We walked around, came across a couple of Soviet ones, a couple of copper Nicholas II ones and silence. We decided to sail to the other side, in the hope that it would be untouched there.

They took out the boat and started rocking it, but it didn’t rock! We scratched our heads, wondering what to do, what’s the joke? But it turns out that a friend’s «Frog» is broken. Failure! Well, I think, let’s pump our mouths. Ahah. We pumped up, moved around, walked around, came across a few coins, but hoped for the best! It’s time to go home. Let’s go, my friend stood up halfway and looked into the forest. I tell him: «Why are you up?» He: «It feels like there is a foundation in the forest». Hmm, well, we decided to come in. Let’s go and really — foundation of the house. It’s already getting dark, and my friend’s eyes are running around. I told him: «Do you want to try?» And he: «Let’s try for about 20 minutes».

We assembled the devices, I just lower the coil and immediately get a clear color signal. I think: «It can’t be!» Dug — early Soviet. And then things started to happen: in half an hour, about 40 coins for two! I say to my friend: «Okay, let’s leave this place for next weekend!». In general, we left there on emotions. I was looking forward to the weekend! And here they come. This time the three of us went. The car was busy (we decided to take the bus). Bus at 6:50 am. I packed my things and went to bed early. I wake up in shock! Too light! Crap! I overslept! (I look at the time 7:10 and 3 missed ones from a friend). I get blown up, call him, and they left without me. I think what to do! I called my father, he gave me a car and I flew to the place!

There is a 3 km cross-country race ahead, almost running. I arrive, and the guys have just collected the equipment. Phew, I made it. All wet, damn it. We started searching and, naturally, coins began to appear. When everything was knocked out from the top, they began to dig for all the dubious signals (since coins also fell under the iron). I decided to move a little away from the house, there was a descent, the ground below was wet (either a spring or a well) and before the descent there was a waist-deep Christmas tree, and a signal sounded under it. Very doubtful, hit the iron, then the color. I didn’t dig (I was already tired), but having walked around everything nearby, there were no more signals and I decided to return to it. I was digging, stuck the shovel in carelessly (because I was waiting for the next piece of iron), removed the bayonet and the signal became better. I was even surprised. I dug it up, put the device down, and as always, without a pin, I take a lump of earth and move it in front of the coil. Past, past and oops, signal in hand!

I saw the ear sticking out of the ground like a cross, I pulled it out and was speechless! St. George’s Cross, 4th degree! I started screaming obscenities! My comrades came running and repeated all my words. I didn’t believe it. In general, they congratulated me, did a photo session, wrapped up the find, put it away, took the device in my hands and checked the hole.

Baaah, in the same hole there is a bad signal again, everything is the same, I dig it up, look for it and again swear at the three-story one. Comrades yell: «What have you got there?» Me: «You won’t believe it, come here!». They come and are shocked again. The second find from this hole was a medal «For Bravery» Nicholas II! Wow! I thought that my comrades would beat me to death with shovels. The whole day afterwards I walked around as if in a dream, I couldn’t believe it. This is the story, my friends! I wish you all good finds and good luck!

P.S. — There was a controversial signal and it hit the iron, because… The old pads have rotted away for the awards!
Assumption: Perhaps the owner of these awards was shot on this descent, because the medals seemed to be torn off, and a lot of Nagant cartridges were found about 5 meters away!
