Foggy morning in a spring field and Fischer F75…)

Early spring in our Scandinavian latitudes is characterized by low grass, cold and wind. Not a resort, of course, but the northerners will not be broken so easily! The thirst for green and shiny round timber mercilessly beckons to the open spaces of ancient fields.

I began to remember places where it was impossible to get through with a stick in the summer. The first stop was made on a field of three plowed farmsteads, marked by mountains of stones. I spun around on the spot that I had scouted last season, rustled through a two-room car from 1813 and some other little things that were older. First coins of the season! 😉

I wandered around the former farm – a lot of iron and broken bricks, not much interesting. I don’t walk fast, I try to separate the color by ear. I rang pieces of a Soviet aluminum pot with inscriptions. “Mino M” was here with a bowler hat made in 1942. There are inscriptions, but no bones, I move on…

I moved to a field closer to the village. A nondescript hayfield, I don’t disturb anyone, I shine a little with a Fiskar with an orange handle on the broken field. Something tells me that only the laziest didn’t dig here. From the unexpected – a button with an anchor and crossed axes. Navy lumberjacks? 😉

I remember a familiar point in the neighboring village. Next time I’m going there to find in three hours of digging one “cabbage” (2 kopecks) of Alexander I, obviously miraculously missed last season. Passion for broken places will destroy me 🙂

I stop fiddling around and sit down with cards – I need new places for new finds. I choose the most God-forsaken village in the middle of the forest, where no competitor has ever set foot. I’m on my way with comrade Lekha to beat a plot, I’m in a fighting mood, nothing foreshadowed it here either…

That same feeling of “Fuck it!” Catherine’s silver is not just pleasant, but thoroughly gives the digger a sense of accomplishment 😉 I carefully remove the artifact and make sure it is in excellent condition. Photo for memory. I didn’t rub it – I washed it at home. Dime of 1787, St. Petersburg.

There was still a heap of copper. Big round ones are of course pleasant, but not as nice as silver ones. Although there weren’t many coins, we had a great time. New places are certainly great. Lastly, a few more episodes…

Advice – look for new places in the new season, may good luck be with you!
