New DD-coil Karma 13″ (duel cockroach Vs spider)
On the third day I received a long-awaited upgrade for my Fisher F75 — healthy 13″ DD coil. The size is just right! Externally, the reel and packaging look perfect. The shape is round and the ribs are quite stylish, reminiscent of spider legs.
The bolt with nut for fastening to the rod has a special protrusion and, accordingly, a groove on the hinges. The nut is tightened until there is a characteristic click when the protrusion snaps into place. Tight locking prevents unscrewing. Keep this in mind when you shoot.
Before sending it to the cops, it was decided to test the coil. I took the stock one, which resembles a cockroach, and the new spider one from Karma. For the test, I prepared a set of coins: a scale, a silver ten-kopeck piece, Peter’s denga, 2 kopecks of Alexander I and 5 kopecks of Alexander III. I did everything over the air on Chuika 98 in JE mode («jewelry»). With these settings I usually dig the old fashioned way.
The results of the arthropod battle were as follows (stock/Karma):
- Scales — 19/21 cm
- Kopeck piece — 24/30 cm
- Denga — 27/32 cm
- 2 kopecks — 28/34 cm
- 5 kopecks — 30/40 cm
I liked the results; a significant increase is noticeable to the naked eye. In all respects, the spider kills the cockroach! 🙂 In terms of weight, the 13-inch is not much heavier. The difference is not noticeable. In many ways, the weight of the device determines its practicality, so this option can be called optimal.
We’ll see how Karma performs in the field, but that’s all for now.
