Instead of a preface. It was at the end of March, when my comrades and I went out to dig for coins in an unplowed field. The grass lay pressed to the ground, the snow had just melted away, the ground had not yet thawed everywhere, but at the same time, everything was digging just fine. At that time I had XP ORX, two of my friends, for the fifth year, have been digging with XP Deus.
We go, we dig, we periodically call to each other who has what fell out. An hour later the statistics are not in my favor. I have a broken cross, and my comrades, among other rubbish, have four coins each. Well, it happens that the instrumental search was lucky, the factor of chance has not been canceled. After two hours we compare the results. I have one piece of advice, my comrades have 6-7 coins plus plastic.
Here, I began to worry because this was no longer an accident. What's wrong with me??? As a result, it turned out that I, like my comrades, had set the first response speed (minimum) in the settings, and was swinging the coil much faster than necessary for this speed. As a result, the device simply did not have time to respond. After taking this factor into account, the number of coins was equal to that of their comrades.
That’s why I decided that in order to be more effective at digging with the new XP Deus II, I need to experiment with the speed settings.
What's the point? As my extensive experience of instrumental search has shown, in plowed fields there is no need to set the MD to maximum settings for depth and sensitivity. Especially when exploring new places. A field prepared for sowing stays like this for no more than a week. Often less than one day. Therefore, you need to have time to dig there and, in that short time, have time to get around and walk through the field as much as possible. In short, catch and dig only 100% good signals.
With this tactic, the effectiveness in terms of the number of finds is maximum. And the fact that you missed deeper signals is not a problem. After the next plowing, they will appear on the surface and, already next year, they can be collected just as effectively.
In general, I think the meaning is clear. So, I decided to go out to mine in a plowed field and experiment with the speed settings, because the XP Deus II has a wider setting scale for this mode.
In speed mode 2, there were a lot of false signals. Deep iron was fading. Because of this, I had to constantly slow down my walking.
I changed it to speed 3. The device began to behave more stably, however, somehow the result did not work out very well, there was still a suspicion that the third speed could not withstand the rhythm and pace of walking across the field that I was accustomed to.
I set the speed to 4. Then the device stopped giving false signals altogether and, moreover, it began to show much less iron. Unusual to the ear. However, deep and large signals began to come across more often: horse meat and other accompaniments. I found this interesting, but something still pressed on my subconscious.
As a result of two days of digging, I came to the conclusion that in the fast field reconnaissance mode it is better to walk at the third speed, and when an interesting place is discovered, switch to a slower reel wiring at a speed of 1.5
To the place of detention. My settings and conclusions regarding the speed of coil wiring are my personal impressions and thoughts. Each MD user sets the speed depending on how comfortable it is for him and how he is used to digging. In this note, I talked about my tactics for finding new, good and productive places in plowed fields. And, if you find such a place, you can dig it for several years. The main thing is to catch the moment when the field is plowed for sowing but not yet sown.
