First tests of production models of Minelab Equinox 600/800 and comparison with competitors!

The first deliveries of Minelab Equinox 600/800 have already passed and the devices have fallen into the hands of people who pre-ordered them. How did it end? Naturally, many diggers immediately began to film their digs and test new serial models of metal detectors from MineLab. What the manufacturer and MD Region have been trumpeting for so long has happened — Equinoxes are now in the hands of users! Let’s take a look at some of the most interesting videos I’ve found so far, hopefully everyone will watch and draw their own conclusions from what they see.

So — One of the main tests for checking the performance of a metal detector is the target separation test using a Monte pattern. Download a template from the Internet, post a goal, post unwanted targets (for example — steel nails) and see the result:

Of course, it was filmed with sneakers and in grandma’s style (holding the phone vertically), but the more truthful the test, apparently!

For example, how does the Golden Mask 5+ metal detector pass a similar test. The coil size is similar, but the nails are laid out closer to the target (coin).

A similar test, but more difficult — goals are set on top of each other. Compare Equinox and Nokta Impak in different modes.

Another test, but no longer targets covered with nails, but rather buried in the depths. As test subjects — US coins, and Equinox 800 vs XP Deus vs AT PRO metal detectors are being tested. The video is interesting, but there is obvious ignorance by the operator of the XP Deus settings, or a desire to show Deus’ abilities on basic settings (program number 1 is used, the most basic — I’ve never tried this, of course!).

An interesting test, judging by the speaker’s accent — a Russian-speaking immigrant somewhere in the USA, but an interesting result is how Equinox works off a gold chain in salt water. Will you dig such a signal or not — It’s up to you, but there is something to think about:

This is the result for today. It’s still difficult to make any decisions on a metal detector, it’s clear that there are no universal devices, and while I see that Equinox works well on the beach and gold, but about digging in fields and forests, you need to think about it, there are devices that go deeper. We’ll watch and draw conclusions!

Good luck to everyone and if you are the owner of Equinox, then share with us your videos, photos and advice — our subscribers and readers will be grateful to you!
