Review

The Fisher F70 is a professional detector designed for ground search of ancient relics, coins, jewellery and items. The device also allows you to search in shallow waters submersing the detector just up to the control box at that(the coil is completely waterproof only, the control box of the device isn’t). The electronic circuitry of the Fisher F70 metal detector is based on VLF technology. The unit operates at a 13 kHz frequency that provides good sensitivity level of the detector to small items of non-ferrous and precious metals. The visual metal discrimination scale on the LCD-screen is divided into 11 segments.

There is a DEPTH indicator (in inches) which is combined with the VDI scale and is activated by pressing the PINPOINT button. The CONF indicator shows confidence in target identification, whereas the DIRT indicator demonstrates amount of soil mineralization. The screen also displays other additional functions which are helpful in search: VDI/Target ID, adjustable sensitivity, ground balancing, threshold, pinpoint mode and frequency shift (to eliminate noise from electrical interference). The target ID operates in both static and dynamic modes. The sensitivity is adjusted in the range of 1-99. The ground balancing in the Fisher F70 metal detector is manual and automatic, with a tuning range of 0-99. The threshold is adjusted manually and its values range from -9 to 9. A 4-tone audio response is applied for indicating a find. The detector has a 6.35mm headphone jack.

The Fisher F70 metal detector comes with the Fisher 10”Mono coil as standard equipment (it’s named as 10COIL- F70 in the manufacturer’s catalogue). For this device there exist other coils of different sizes and parameters. The power supply of the detector is 4 AA batteries. The size of the device is 105-130cm (adjustable height).
