History of the Russian steel helmet 1916-1945, Ivan Karabanov (kopar library)
So, friends! I continue my column «Digger’s Library», in which I introduce you to all the books and works from my personal library that can be useful for any digger in order to broaden their horizons and gain new knowledge.
For all war diggers it will be interesting to know the history of the Russian steel helmet, because as it turned out, the Soviet helmet is not just a find; in Soviet positions, especially in 1941 and 1942, you can find a lot of interesting things.
My library has a copy of this book signed by the author. I bought the book on the WW2 forum, but at the moment, as I understand it, the circulation has ended. If the author still has books in stock or is planning to send them for circulation, then I recommend not to delay and buy yourself a book.
Printed in Moscow, 2016. ISBN: 978-5-9909277-2-8/978-5990927728/9785990927728 Circulation: 3000 copies.
This book is unique — it contains a large number of photographs and documents, descriptions of patents and original designs, descriptions of all types of helmets that were created for the Imperial Army and the Red Army during this period. How much time did the author take to compile and select the material — It’s mind-boggling, but the author achieved his goal; this book is the only complete collection on the topic of Russian steel helmets.
The book is beautifully illustrated with detailed descriptions of all the helmets. There is also an exclusive. Various helmets used by the army during this period.
