New product announcement!

Yes, it happened! The Macro company announced three new metal detectors of a new series – Gold Kruzer, Cruiser and Multi Cruiser. The only difference is in the frequencies — multi Cruiser is multi-frequency, but Cruiser has only one frequency. The gold Kruzer model has a frequency of 61 kHz and is designed for searching for gold, naturally.

Our small team participated in testing the multi Kruzer model and the prototype fully justified itself and withstood even a 20-minute stay in cold water (+2 C)!

What’s new in Cruiser metal detectors?

The full line of Makro Cruiser metal detectors currently consists of three models — Makro Kruzer, Makro Multi Kruzer and Makro Gold Kruzer.

In general, the metal detector has many new functions and advantages, for example:

Makro Kruzer

Macro Cruiser is a single-frequency device, it differs from the Multi Cruiser metal detector only in the number of frequencies, therefore this model in the line is cheaper, but in terms of quality and search characteristics it is not inferior to the Multi Cruiser and Nokta Impact metal detectors, because it works on one and the same circuit, but with only one frequency — 14 kHz.

The number of search modes is exactly the same as that of the Multi Cruiser — There are 6 of them. Therefore, we can assume that this model will be good for those who do not need two additional frequencies (5 and 19 kHz). The device is also waterproof. Overall, in my opinion — the most optimal solution. Of course, additional frequencies are always useful and interesting, but in most cases we always dig at one frequency and few people really check their places by working at other frequencies.

Comes standard with 11″ DD coil, charging and wireless headphones Macro.

Makro Multi Kruzer

The top model from Macro at the moment. Three-frequency (5/14/19 kHz), waterproof metal detector, 6 search modes. Everything is the same as with the Cruiser, but two more frequencies have been added. In general, a solution for those who need additional frequencies; the price difference from the Makro Cruiser will be small, so this is an option for those who are willing to overpay a little.

Makro engineers in their advertising brochures promise that with this metal detector all old search places will again bring us finds. Is this true or not — Time will tell, but the new product really looks very interesting!

In many ways, it follows the contours of the Macro Racer and MP2 metal detectors, but with added water resistance and the presence of three frequencies. One of our recent tests showed that Multi Cruiser in the same modes with Macro Racer 2 sees targets a little deeper, the test was carried out on 3 kopecks 1945, buried to a depth of 25 cm.

The metal detector is supplied with a standard coil 11″ DD, like Cruiser, also comes with wireless headphones and charging.

Makro Gold Kruzer

A device for searching for gold and various jewelry on the beach. In our area it will not be very widespread, because with a frequency of 61 kHz the device will find all that scattered small foil on the beach, but for searching for nuggets on heavy soils it will be a real helper.

Comes with two coils: GK26C (mono coil) size 10×5.5″ and a GK19DD coil (DD coil, as the name implies) size 7.5×4″. Also included are wireless headphones for searching and charging. The device is waterproof, like everyone else in the line.

Additional coils for Macro Cruiser

In addition to the standard coil 11″ DD KR28 manufacturer has prepared a whole set of additional coils for the Makro Cruiser and Makro Multi Cruiser metal detectors.

This is a set of coils that are made in the same mold as the coils for the Nokta Impact metal detector. These are sniper rifles — KR19/KR24, KR13 round sniper, KR18C concentric (mono) coil and «steering wheel» KR40. The first two snipers are good for digging, digging in the forest and in difficult places, the round sniper performs well in large garbage dumps due to its size (5″), the concentric coil also brings its own finds and there is a certain percentage of diggers who work with mono coils, because they have their advantages, and «steering wheel» The KR40 is great for digging in open areas and fields, giving excellent depth when searching for finds!

Search modes Macro Cruiser and Multi Cruiser

It’s worth taking a closer look at the search modes. Metal detectors of the Macro Cruiser series are built on the Nokta Impact scheme, but the number of modes has been reduced, so let’s go over the settings of the metal detectors a little. 

It’s good to have a display in front of you. 🙂 Most likely, in Russia and some CIS countries the metal detector will be supplied with Russian-language localization, but for now there is a photo of the English-language menu, so we will go through the English version.

In the upper left corner there are search modes under the word «MODE». There are 6 search modes, let’s talk which mode is needed and what it is for:

GEN.

General search mode. Suitable for additional knocking out of already broken fields and places where all metals need to be dug. In many ways similar to the «All Metals» in other metal detectors, it makes it possible to adjust the threshold tone level (THRESH.), which is very important for searching for especially small coins and relics. We recommend using it for finishing and digging in places where they have been digging for years and it seems that most of the coins have been knocked out.

The deepest search mode after DEEP mode, of course.

2 TONE.

Two-tone discrimination mode. Iron will sound in a low tone, and everything that is more or less colored — in a higher tone. In this segment, iron targets are on a scale up to a value of 15, from 15 to 99 — targets made of non-ferrous metals. The tonality transition can be changed with the TONE BREAK setting, that is, raise a low tonality higher in VDI or, conversely, lower it in order to hear certain hardware and VDI targets below 15/10 (for example — gold, but not all).& nbsp; It is recommended to use a cop to scout new places, for example.

3 TONE.

Three-tone discrimination mode. The iron sounds in a low tone, and the color segment is divided into two tones — medium and high. Low tone for targets 0 to 15, medium for targets 16 to 66, and high tone for targets 67 to 99. The tone transition can be changed to your preference using the Tone Break function. With sensitivity up to level 90, this mode is the fastest in terms of response speed, which means it can be used perfectly in the trash. Above 90 — already suitable for digging in littered areas.

4 TONE.

Four-tone discrimination mode. In this case, the iron sounds in a low tone, and the color segment is divided into 3 different tones. Low tone from 0 to 15, low-mid tone from 16 to 30, high-mid tone from 31 to 66 and high tone from 67 to 99. In this case, Macro engineers went a little further and heard suggestions from many diggers and testers to make a mode 4 Tones is more useful and informative than before. Now this mode has become noisier and it is worth noting that the device makes louder noise when you hold the coil in the air, and not above the ground. In the Cruiser series metal detectors, the 4-tone mode has become deeper and more sensitive to small targets, which means it has become more preferable to dig in the 4-tone mode than, as before, in the 2-tone mode. In addition, the tonality of the voice acting of the 4-tone mode was changed, also at the request of diggers and testers.

Naturally, the 4-tone mode is best used in normal and weakly mineralized soil.

BEACH.

Beach mode. Specially designed for beach searches in the surf and wet sand, as well as — in water! It doesn’t smell on salty and wet sand and allows you to look for jewelry and various interesting lost items. Can also be used in fresh plowing, where the soil is wet and mixed, should work well.

In this mode, the ground balance level is open to a value of 0-99.80, which allows for better ground balance. Also the discrimination level is set to 15 to discriminate and reject ground response and ferrous metals.

In this mode, the voice acting is two-tone, standard 0-15 low tone and 15-99 high tone. Using the T.Break option you can shift the tone to higher levels, for example

DEEP.

Deep mode. Designed for finishing small areas, requires slow wiring with a coil. The deepest mode of all metal detectors presented in this series.

In this mode the device is noisy, but the noise is louder when the coil is in the air and not above the ground.

Also two-tone mode — 0-15 low tone and 15-99 high tone. Tone break can be raised and shifted by setting T.Break.

E.U.D. (Additional mode)

Hidden mode, activated by double pressing the SELECT button. Allows you to see targets on heavy soils and under «hot» stones. The mode may incorrectly determine the type of metal, and therefore it is better to dig everything, because the probability of error in identifying the target on heavy soil is quite high.

Wireless Macro headphones

For the first time, such headphones appeared for the Macro Racer 2 metal detectors and were supplied together with a special transmitter that was inserted into the metal detector unit, and the kit itself cost 6,500 rubles, that is, almost 100 euros. Now, in Cruiser series metal detectors, wireless headphones are included in the package!

The headphones are very comfortable and fit well on my head, I even wore them under a hat to dig in them in winter. The headphones are charged using a regular Mini-USB charger, they hold a charge for quite a long time, they worked for me all day long without any problems. The sound volume is adjusted on the metal detector, so apart from the power button and the additional button for connecting headphones to the metal detector, there are no other buttons on the headphones, which is very convenient.

Additional plug-in charging

In case a cop is planning to go on an expedition for more than one or two days, additional charging is supplied for Cruiser series metal detectors, powered by ordinary AA batteries.

The charger is waterproof, mounted under the armrest of the metal detector using special fasteners and two bolts. Convenient and practical! It connects to the metal detector’s charging connector and runs on four AA batteries. It also has a jack for connecting headphones, so you don’t have to worry that the battery is low and the device is charging from the charger, but there is nowhere to plug in the headphones. Charging is easy and does not cause discomfort when working with a metal detector.

Water resistance test!

On one of our trips to test the prototype, we decided to give the device a little bath. And since it’s winter outside and the reservoirs are frozen with ice, and there’s no point in testing the device at sea — If we couldn’t reach the normal depth, waves of cold water would immediately flood us up to our ears, we decided to throw the device from the ice into the flow of the seething water of one river, which had not yet been covered with ice. And what came of it?

Honestly — We didn’t expect the metal detector to withstand such a test, because cold is always a serious problem for any electronics. Well, the Macro Multi Cruiser withstood our extravagance and is still working without problems.

The only thing is that the film on the front panel of the detector unit came off in the water, but the device was washed after digging!

The river, by the way, is quite swag. But the current is strong, we need to try to knock it out with a magnet, I think that in the spring we will tackle this simple task.

And at the end of the test the sun came out and illuminated the forest with its rays setting beyond the horizon. There is nothing better than meeting an order in a winter forest! Unless — to meet an order in the summer at sea, whoever has been will understand.

Review and real cop with Makro Multi Kruzer

Greetings to all comrades! I want to share with you my thoughts about the new product from Macro.

That year I purchased Macro Racer 2 in the Pro configuration, which includes a small sniper coil and a large, so-called steering wheel.

I’m very pleased with the device, I’ve never left it without coins, I privately called it a coin-operated vacuum cleaner. Before I could get enough of the thought that I own one of the most powerful metal detectors, which, if I change the coil, completely satisfies my needs, and this is mainly searching for coins in fields and forests, when a year later the Macro company rolls out its new development, Cruiser. When I saw it for the first time, I’ll be honest, it didn’t make a particularly big impression on me; outwardly, it’s very different from the line of racers and impact, the classic concept of old devices — S-shaped rod, on it is a square control unit with a display and 11 DD ellipse coil.

The Cruiser, in comparison with the Racer, looked somehow frivolous, in general the same classic, but lightweight, the rod that is attached to the reel is made of carbon, I don’t know why, but at first glance it didn’t inspire much confidence. Thought — another marketing ploy, the main emphasis of which is on the complete submersibility of the device; it can be submerged to a depth of up to 5 meters, by the way, which was immediately tested in harsh winter conditions, and multi-frequency is now so popular. Since I don’t do underwater searching and the frequency of 14 Hz on the Racer suited me quite well, the Racer collected small coins and large copper coins perfectly in fields and forests, I didn’t have much desire to try this device in action, so to speak, in real field conditions conditions. But by the will of fate, at the very beginning of the spring season, the Cruiser fell into my hands. Like a child, when I received a new toy, without reading the instructions, I immediately ran to test the device in the sandbox at home. Based on the settings, I only knew that the 4-tone mode is the deepest and fastest mode. Setting the sensitivity to 93, connecting wireless headphones and doing ground balance, I began the search. The noisiness of the device did not scare me; the Racer was also a talkative device; this is normal for professional detectors. And now, among the light crackles, a clear signal stands out, the VDI is stable and above 50 and this, of course, is a bargain of 20 euro cents, but the most interesting thing is that with the next rather very fast wiring, I already hear three clear signals in the headphones, I conduct even faster and so on three clear signals. There was no doubt that these were three coins lying nearby. I was surprised by the high speed of wiring and the clarity of signal separation, the Cruiser intrigued me.

I really liked the voice acting of the device, which I so missed in Racer. I will not describe my exits based on missing places and new finds, since such  stories always evoke a feeling of bias and mistrust in me, but I’ll say I already have more finds with Cruiser than with Racer in that entire season.

For some reason I want to compare the Macro Cruiser with the Deus, maybe because the comrades with whom I go are Deus owners and before, when I went with other devices, I understood that the Deus is a very strong detector , which was always proven by the number of coins they found. It’s not the same with Cruiser now, you feel like you’re walking at their level and, if you’re lucky, you’re even outperforming them.

But this is all biased and maybe even a little emotional, let’s look at the essence, so to speak, the pros and cons, and compare the Cruiser with the Deus and Macro Racer 2 a little, by the way, in terms of intelligence it should be compared with the Equinox, but we don’t know, we haven’t tried . I read somewhere in the comments that the Turks wanted to make a device like Equinox, but they did it better.

So, the advantages: compared to the Deus, the settings are very simple, you don’t have to bother and think about what program to turn on and what to unscrew in order to have maximum efficiency, by the way, I still haven’t really read the instructions for the Cruiser, I go 4 tones, sensitivity 93, frequency 19, as they say — turn it on and play. 

Second — very fast response from the target and excellent discrimination, 99% it is clear that there is iron under the coil, I can’t say for sure about the depth, I didn’t have time to do tests, the only thing I did quickly was to bury 2 kopecks of 1812 in the sandbox, about 27 cm, and to my great disappointment, the Macro Racer 2 with a coil steering wheel did not want to see it, unlike the Cruiser with a standard coil, and another plus is the weight of the device, having gotten used to the Cruiser for 6-7 hours in the fields and taking out the Racer with a steering wheel I I can no longer understand how I waved this weight before.

A big plus is the Cruiser’s moisture protection and good quality design, it’s really not afraid of anything, after digging, just rinse it in the shower. Nowadays you won’t surprise anyone with wireless headphones, but it’s nice when they are already included in the package. I have listed the main advantages, now about the disadvantages, or most likely what specifically I did not like. I don’t know why, but purely intuitively I don’t like the fact that the Cruiser has a built-in battery, I’ll say right away that nothing bad happened because of this, and even if you forget to charge it after the cop,  The kit includes a battery compartment that attaches to the armrest and the device will run on batteries, and can even be recharged from an accubank. According to my calculations, the Cruiser’s battery should last for about three small cops, about 3-4 hours, or for two large ones for 7-8 hours, but personally I somehow feel uneasy when I see that in At the end of the cop I already have two empty bars, so when I get home I immediately put it on charge, it charges quickly. I can’t say anything more bad. I would definitely recommend this device to professionals and the price-quality ratio is one of the best offers currently on the global metal detector market.

What can I say — the set of functions is good, and our team summed it up — It turned out to be a good and universal coin holder, and at an affordable price. The version with one frequency is absolutely stunning, both in price and in characteristics.
