XP Deus and Fisher F75 – pros and cons of professional metal detectors (expert opinion+)
How long have you been using your metal detector and how well do you know it? A metal detector is just an object that has its pros and cons, but the main job of digging falls on the digger, who must decide whether to dig for this signal or not, check for a dubious signal or not, go in the middle of the field or along the edge, look for the digging point according to archives/maps and stories of local residents or travel at random. A metal detector only provides an opportunity, but nothing more, which means you need to know its strengths and weaknesses!
We recently asked ourselves the question: what are the pros and cons of the professional oldies in the world of metal detectors: the XP Deus and the Fisher F75. Metal detectors are unique in their own way and have broken more than one thousand copies in disputes on forums, so we will try to put an end to this issue based on our own rich experience as a cop with these models. So, let's go!
On the F75, the control buttons are more convenient, especially the pinpointer. The F75 finds targets deeper than the XP Deus. The F75 has simpler controls and is easier to understand.
With the Fisher F75 it is easier and faster to cover the entire field (that is, conduct reconnaissance).
The F75 is better at seeing small targets, especially small and deep-lying coins.
The Fisher F75 has a more comfortable armrest.
XP Deus is more stable than F75. The XP Deus has a better discriminator and signal detection in the ground.
XP Deus is better at finding large and silver coins. XP Deus is more compact and easier to transport, assemble and store.
XP Deus has more settings, which makes it more versatile for tuning to certain conditions/location/ground/interference. This gives more choice for searching + XP Deus has more frequencies – 4 versus 1 for Fisher.
XP Deus is wireless, there are no wires and there are wireless headphones, as many as two models. The XP Deus can be charged directly and has built-in batteries, but the Fisher F75 requires changing batteries.
The XP Deus is better suited for beach searching than the Fisher F75.
And one of the main factors is price. The Fisher F75 costs almost half as much as the XP Deus at the beginning of 2018.
