Garrett Z-Lynk wireless module - sales have started! (review+)< /p>

Dear public, I hasten to inform you: sales of the new Garret Z-Lynk wireless module have started in the USA! They are expected soon in Europe, where dealers are already collecting pre-orders. MSRP of $150 was confirmed. Let us remind you that we already wrote about this in our blog previously. Moreover, I myself noticed that pre-order prices from dealers can differ significantly downwards — There are offers to get the device for $130! 😉

The set itself consists of the following items:
— wireless transmitter WT-1, attached to the device, well protected from rain (IP 64);
— wireless receiver WR-1, fits in a pocket, poorly protected from rain (IP 52);
— two Micro-USB wires for charging from a phone, computer, car, etc.;
— wire with 1/4-inch (1/4″) audio connector for connecting the device to the transmitter;
— round rubber band for attaching the transmitter to the device (example with AT PRO in the picture above);
— bag for the set with our logo of course (just kidding))).

Updated!

We made our own short video review of the Garrett Z-Lynk kit, it cost 129 EUR for February 2017.

How does this set differ from cheap Chinese devices, you ask. Further on the shelves.

1. The manufacturer assures us that the signal transmission speed is very high and there is no delay. Or rather, it is practically non-existent, it is equal to 17 milliseconds — that’s 0.017 s! This is six times faster than Bluetooth.

2. This set is designed specifically for metal detectors, and not only for Grandfather Garrett’s metal detectors, but should also fit most devices on the market.

3. The wide range of usable frequencies allows you to avoid interference from other wireless devices.

4. Charging lasts for up to 30 hours. At least he won’t die in a couple of hours 😉

5. If you turn on the transmitter or receiver and leave it unplugged, then after 30 minutes it will turn off on its own. Useful function if accidentally turned on in your pocket, for example.

6. And finally, the device has a 2-year warranty. Maintains temperature from -20 to +60 degrees. Celsius.

At the end of my brief review, I want to once again warn dear comrades before purchasing a set to carefully read the audio ports and connectors of your device and headphones so as not to get into trouble. A 3.5 mm plug is often used, for which you need an adapter, which is not a problem to get.

We have already ordered this set and are looking forward to trying it out. In the meantime, don’t forget that the well-known MineLab is rolling out its version of the wireless module — PRO SONIC. I’ll write about this device next time and will definitely compare it with the Z-Lynk’om!
