Chinese manufacturers amuse me — No matter what kind of business someone is engaged in in the world, the Chinese will catch up sooner or later. And they are catching up with their brand and product line. Usually things don’t go well — The quality and culture of production in China is at a fairly low level, especially after-sales service, which is often simply not there at all.
Last year, one of these new Chinese manufacturers and brands, Deteknix, released a new product — metal detector Deteknix Quest Pro. Some smart guys managed to get hold of this detector and post their reviews, but in general, the detector is not yet on sale. I wondered why and without thinking twice I contacted the European office of Deteknix, which is located in the Netherlands. (And is this even an office? More like a contact person, as I understand it).
And I got hot news! Apparently, after several negative reviews and publications (and one of the reviewers even recommended breaking this device against a tree!) the Chinese guys decided to update the device and not put it on sale for now! They promise to roll out a new and updated model in 8 weeks, under the same name — Deteknix Quest Pro. Well, yes, they announced it, so don’t let all the PR go to waste, right?

Well, let’s see what will happen in the new detector model, how the Chinese will want to compete with the leaders in the metal detector market? But one thing is clear — Season 2016 for Quest Pro has been missed.
