An unusual device recently caught my eye and I couldn’t pass by without taking a photo. I am really greedy for various interesting and unusual models of metal detectors. What makes this one so unusual? Probably because I don’t see it on sale here, it doesn’t appear on the forums, and it’s also not visible in the fields. Why? Good question! Let’s see what’s in the box for now, and then, if the weather cooperates, we’ll write about everything about how this machine behaves in practice and test it. 😉
An interesting model from the guys from Teknetics — G2+. A tweeter with some interesting features. The manufacturer assures us that this model is perfectly resistant to salty soil on the beach, is it true — We’ll check it out in the new season, but for now…
A box in the style of all the guys from First Texas Products. Beautiful design, lightweight, only the essentials inside. The box shows coins that look like Roman coins.
From the box we take out another cardboard form, which contains all the components of the metal detector. Interesting solution. What’s in the kit?
And the kit is the most standard from First Texas Products. Nothing superfluous, everything is concise and only necessary — metal detector, coil, manual. What else do we need? We could put headphones in, of course, they wouldn’t be superfluous. On the other hand — any addition to the kit leads to its increase in price, will we pay for things we don’t need? I don’t know, I like to save money, one pair of headphones is enough for me for several detectors, I probably don’t need to pay for additional ones.
Yes, the manual itself and especially for those who think that the guys from First Texas do not include rubber rings for the reel and rod — here they are in the photo. Each kit has long been supplied with rubber rings to prevent breakage of the reel ears and provide a more secure attachment of the reel to the rod.
The main features of the device that I see now:

- One 9V battery — An interesting power supply option, no need to carry 4-8 AA AA batteries. (One 9V is even cheaper).
- Very advanced settings for its class — discrimination, pinpoint, V-Break and Treshold setting.
- Light weight. Convenient balancing — you can wave all day long.
