What to take with you to a cop?

The dream came true and the detector was purchased. When you buy your first detector, just like after buying a car, there is a slight euphoria. Here it is, here is my detector, I’ll go search soon and all the gold/silver/diamonds are mine. I’ll get all the coins and pay for the detector on the first trip. But reality puts everything in its place. Someone on the first trip gets a coin for $15,000, a ring for $13,000, and someone gets only bottle caps.

What to take with you on your search? To dig up fewer jams, and to get complete pleasure from the search process, it is better to take a good device, a shovel that is more comfortable, it is better that the shovel is as light as possible, but quite durable , and depending on what you are going to dig – on the beach I would get by with a scoop or a shovel, but for the field no one has yet come up with anything better than a short shovel.

Clothing is selected based on comfort and durability, some take their old clothes, which they don’t mind, others buy army equipment (surplus), other, especially experienced comrades take a set of overalls from Helicon/Tasmanian Tiger, but it happens that we also met guys in the fields wearing clothes from 5.11

Shoes. It’s better to take something light but durable. If conditions require it, it’s also waterproof. Depending on the weather – warm or lightweight shoes for severe heat. But you should never forget about safety, because getting bitten by a snake while being many kilometers from human habitation and without a team or assistants is not the best adventure in life. I prefer either Finnish boots, from the company Nokian, or German boots HAIX .

Pinpointer. Probably the third most useful tool for searching, after a metal detector and a shovel. We went to search the field with our comrades, two with pinpointers, and one without. We quickly find and pull out coins, and a colleague without a pinpointer tries for a long time to find what kind of signal it was and where, naturally he wastes time and ends up with fewer finds.

Weapons. Yes, maybe in 99% of cases this is not the most useful thing, but it is better to at least take a knife with you. Even better – a strong bayonet from an army warehouse (surplus), it is convenient for digging up turf and cutting roots, trying to get a small coin in the middle of the roots of a tree or bushes In other conditions, sometimes firearms are also necessary, as for example when searching for gold nuggets in Africa, where weapons are simply necessary to repel a possible attack by tigers or some aliens from a hungry tribe of cannibals.

The main thing is to combine your equipment and the search will only be a pleasure for you! Happy searching everyone!
