It seems that Garrett hasn't had much success with detectors yet. If there are new models, it is not known when, and what kind of models is also a question. There was even talk about an almost finished new Garrett deep metal detector, like Gemini or Whites TM808, but I don’t really believe it. But in terms of accessories, Garrett released such a large double-sided “swag”, which they called the Garrett Keepers Box. That is, a storage box from Garrett.
I was able to touch this new product in one local metal detector store. I’ll write down my feelings regarding this creation, but for now, watch the video from Garrett and listen to what they promise us in it:
In general, the box is quite large and if you store and carry it, it should only be in a large pocket, and I hope that you have such a pocket. If not, then you need to find yourself better pants with more pockets, which will always come in handy. 🙂
The plastic of the box is quite strong, and it opens on both sides, that is, you can get access from anywhere, put a bunch of finds of a wide variety of sizes, and especially valuable coins can be thrown into soft foam rubber.
Its latches are weak, and the lids are loose. The box was made in China, which is not surprising, and therefore the build quality is appropriate.
Even the simplest box must not only be planned according to compartments, lids, locks and latches, but also select the right materials. Here the plastic pieces are loose and, of course, there is a small risk of losing something from this box during active shaking.
On one side there is one large compartment with foam where you can insert coins, a large compartment without foam, and four smaller compartments. It is best, of course, to cover open compartments with finds with a sponge or stuff them with cotton wool so that coins and finds do not dangle and create additional scratches.
The other side consists entirely of open compartments of different sizes and, we can say that this department is created exclusively for storing non-coin finds, because here you can put items the size of a cartridge case – long, wide or narrow.
