An ordinary summer day, I’m sitting at the computer and writing another post for this blog. Along the way, I think thoughts — after the cop, when the Bundeswehr pants tore right along the seam (in the middle, it became convenient to go to the toilet), the question immediately arose — what to do with them: sew them up or buy something new? I didn’t expect such a setup from Bundeswehr pants:
I was digging a position in 1944, found a signal, dug, bent over the hole with a kick and heard a crack. «That’s it, we’ve arrived!». But I dug through the whole day to the end and even a huge hole in my pants was not a problem.
I remembered that one of my friends once told me: «I’m wearing Gorka, the suit is super, one love simply! Take — You won’t regret it!». I looked at the torn Bundes pants and realized that I had to take Gorka with the hope that Gorka wouldn’t let me down like that. I wrote to a comrade, he says that he bought the Gorki from the Camouflage.ru website, they say they sew it themselves and his team (airsoft guys) are very happy. I began to look, according to my size (height is 190 cm), only the model «Gorka-3» was suitable, without thinking twice I selected the size and took my favorite camouflage A-TACS FG.

Why this suit and what are its advantages?
For myself, I defined — Good clothes for a cop should be strong, reliable and lightweight. I have long noticed that without such a small thing as suspenders, digging can be inconvenient. Costume «Gorka 3» already comes with suspenders and this was just one of the few bonuses why I took it.
I’ve been wearing the suit for more than four months. On the one hand — a trifle, on the other hand — I was already able to identify many of the suit’s advantages and bonuses.
First of all — the suit is very durable. Yes, it’s really durable — I tried (just in case) to tear it with my own hands and it didn’t work. But I’m not a weak person, I can give a good blow to the head.
In our business, when we have to walk for kilometers across a field or forest, constantly bend over a hole and crawl on the ground on our knees in search of the treasured find with a pin, it is simply vital to have durable equipment and clothing. I remember that joke with the torn Bundeswehr pants for a long time! There are no such problems with Gorka, it is made of 50% PE material — 50% cotton, rip stop. A very strong combination, because the suit has not frayed anywhere on any knee. The knees and elbows in the suit are reinforced, by the way, so you don’t need to worry about them once again.
The suit is very functional — You can use it for digging, even for a Sunday strike game, or for fishing/hunting. Or to the nearest shooting range.
Lots of pockets — as many as 11 pieces! 5 on the jacket and 6 on the trousers! Very helpful — I can fit (even in the fall) into all my pockets: documents, a spare hat, a cap, a walkie-talkie, a cop’s scoop, a multi-tool, keys, a phone, a knife, and even — Glock 17 with 34 rounds of magazines!
The jacket has pockets on the sleeves (2 pieces), an inner pocket (1 piece) and two pockets on the bottom of the jacket. When a bag with finds and a pin is hanging, then access to these pockets on the jacket becomes limited, so you just need to consider what to put there — things that you don’t want to lose and that won’t be needed during the process itself.
I keep documents in one of my sleeve pockets — a license to dig, permits from various services and authorities to dig on their land. In case curious people come up and start digging for documents, they are easily obtained and, most importantly, — don’t get wet! Tried it, holds water well.
In the lower pockets of my jacket I keep a spare hat and keys — Gorka’s pockets are loss-proof, which means that when you close the pocket and fasten the button, a special fold is formed that will not allow any things to fall out of the pockets. A very convenient and useful invention — I don’t understand why this isn’t used in regular clothes!
The trousers have two side pockets, two hip pockets and two back pockets. The hip pockets have special protection against items falling out. However, I use the hip pockets to store a bottle of water (half a liter) and a plastic sanitizer — helps to quickly grab it and get the item out of the hole, so as not to dig with a shovel again and not damage the find.

For the average person, the olive color is not as off-putting as camouflage, but olive still retains its camouflage properties — in the field it will be difficult to notice a person at a distance of 70 meters for sure! Or even less.
Next. It is better to use the suit in cool weather. That is, when the air temperature is more than 15-17C degrees Celsius, it becomes a little hot in the suit, and at a temperature above 23C it becomes uncomfortable. This feature of the fabric and tailoring — in this case, the tropical Bundeswehr will save you, but in hot weather it is better to dig at sea and waist-deep in water. The reservoirs will cool down and bring in a lot of new finds!

About drying — Drying a wet suit is very easy and quick. Very fast — compared to regular clothes. In just an hour and a half, the suit is completely dry if you dry it in a dry and ventilated place. Drying by the fire will take a little longer.
And now about use in cold seasons — the suit is specially designed so that if you order your size, the suit will have a volume reserve, that is, you can wear your own insulating clothing under the suit — thermal underwear, sweater, T-shirts, sweatshirts.
The suit does not rustle. When you walk — You can only hear footsteps, there is no rustling of clothes. Bonus.
Gorka has «anthers». What is it? The answer is simple: two legs. One trouser leg is worn with shoes (high boots), and the other trouser leg is placed over a high ankle boot. This way, no dirt or foreign objects get into the boot.
I’m not even talking about the Velcro fasteners (the cuffs on the sleeves — are very comfortable, the jacket doesn’t fidget on your hands), about the drawstrings and tightening of the jacket, that it can be adjusted to your figure, about the large and comfortable buttons that cannot be torn off. There are a lot of little things in the costume that you don’t immediately understand and can’t determine why it was done this way and not otherwise? The costume is very well thought out.
As for me, I’ll say that I want to take a couple more Gorkas into my arsenal — already with different camouflage (Oliva, including), and Gorka for the winter, with insulation. Winter digging has not been cancelled, I sometimes dig in January too.
