I don’t know about you, colleagues, but my most common find — this is 2 kopecks of Alexander I and «denga» 1730s. About «dengue» we’ll talk separately next time.
Despite the fact that the reign of Alexander the First in Russia began in 1801, I will take a closer look at coins from 1810. They can be distinguished into a separate type of the most frequently encountered coins. Yes, there really were 2 kopecks from 1802 and 1803, but they are such rare guests that I will not get to them soon in the description of the field numismatics of terry tsarism.
I will not go into a deep description of the obverse and reverse and the meaning of each squiggle on the coin’s field. The purpose of this post — determining the value, which directly depends on the safety of the coin. Its generally accepted designations are as follows:
AU — excellent (fresh from the stamp)
XF — excellent
VF — very good
F — good
VG — satisfactory (obvious poop)
If we discard the extremes, which I see no point in considering in this post, we are left with three degrees. Below I present to your attention a table of costs in Russian rubles. Prices are based on sales at leading numismatic auctions. I previously cut out evidence that goes against common sense, so in some places it’s empty. I specifically highlighted the definitely rare specimens in red, and the infrequent ones — blue!
