DD coil Minelab 15″ 3 kHz for X-Terra series metal detectors

I recently took into my kit the famous «Grater» — Minelab X-Terra 705 and two coils and a case for the detector. What’s a blog without a grater? And I’ll slowly start talking about what’s available.

I was seriously concerned about the problem of completely knocking out the digging points and I was wondering how changing the frequency of the device could affect this. I have several devices, but all of them are either high or medium frequency, so for the grater it was decided to take a large and low-frequency «steering wheel».

Some comrades say that this standard coil from Minelab is a complete copy of a similar coil from Coiltek, which is pictured below:

This is partly true, because this coil for Minelab is now produced by Coiltek since the beginning of 2016, I don’t know whether Coiltek will continue to produce similar coils or will soon release another new product — I don’t know this, but I found similar information on the Minelab website in the news. There is a lot of interesting stuff there, by the way, I will write in places about some news from this company.

It’s interesting that the reel is not supplied in a box, as Mars MD/Nel do, for example, but comes in a bag with a cardboard label above.

Maybe this is a simple solution, the main thing is that the coils are sold intact and are under warranty from your dealer.

Of course, compared to the usual 10’5″ The 7.5 kHz DD coil looks quite large, but it fits quite well on the detector, it will take some getting used to, but the weight has increased a little.

I will write a separate blog about how she will behave in the field, when I have carried out several diggings with her and looked at different places that have been walked by different diggers.
