Exploration of chestnut alleys (photo+)
I decided to spend the cloudy autumn Sunday morning correctly and went to explore new places. An old manor was chosen, or rather what had once been alleys not far from it.
What remained of its former splendor was the masonry of a drainage ditch overgrown with bushes and trees, and rare centuries-old chestnut trees. The path, by the way, is still in use and is popular with locals. While I was jumping along the roadside with the detector, couples and singles with dogs were walking past.
I took with me an ACE 400i with a CORS Cannon coil. The beginning of the path turned out to be littered beyond measure. I had to turn off the MD so as not to waste time and walk a little forward. The autumn landscape of bare bushes did not leave a single chance for the foundation of the old farm to go unnoticed by me. Moved towards him…
Whoever dug in villages and farmsteads will understand me perfectly — this is not an easy matter. There are a lot of signals, mostly junk. Shrill Asya likes everything, she has to listen and strain her brain — send signals one after another, step by step. At one point, I came across the strongest color signal with a high coin VDI. I raked up the leaves and some of the top layer of soil… A black round light flashed; at first I didn’t understand this phenomenon. It seemed to me that the coin was lying in the leaves.
And indeed, again two kopecks of Alexander I, 1813, I.M. Frankly, I didn’t expect it. I began to systematically check all the signals nearby in the hope of finding more. True sign — The coins don’t just lie there one at a time, there will always be more nearby. It turned out to be absolutely right, two more kopecks popped up on the meter, but from the end of the 19th century.
I poked around the farm a little more, walked around the foundation and went further along the old alley; I didn’t want to linger in one place, after all, reconnaissance doesn’t suggest this.
Then suddenly, on the side of the road near an old chestnut tree, Asya gave me a very strong signal, the VDI kept scaled at 99. I removed the top layer of turf. I swing the stick, again 99… Damn it, the signal is spot on!!! At such moments, adrenaline jumps, the imagination begins to draw silver rubles or, at worst, half a ruble 😉
I put the device aside, reach into the hole with my hands, and scoop it out…
Of course you can’t see it in this photo, but it’s five cents «mason» 1831. A little worn, but overall very good! Who would have thought, what a surprise! This is my third five-kopeck Mason this season. Such coins are always nice.
The time allotted for the sortie flew by like a rocket. Of course, I didn’t check everything; I ran through some places without turning on the device. I still have to go back there and dig deep. On old maps I found a second farmstead next to the alley, a little further away, it still needs to be found. As a final touch, I will show all three coins in one frame.
Search and there will definitely be finds! Good luck!
